Sustainable Farming Through Backward Integration

Greenwave Food Ingredients was born with the idea to create the “Second Green Revolution” through a lens of sustainability, resilience, and equitable prosperity for all in agriculture industry. This transformative initiative, 
driven by a collective commitment to environmental stewardship and social well-being, aimed to redefine the 
future of Indian agriculture.

To achieve our vision we are working towards creating backward intergrated supply chain which is rooted in the idea of sustainable farming. With our Backward Integration Program, we have always aimed to bridge the increasing gap between Rural Agricultural Practices and Farming Science and Technology. With these programs we not only help the farming community but at the same time we are able to offer a fully traceable and sustainable ingredients to the global food industry. We are also taking steps to team up with qualified agronomist in order to develop detailed package of practices for organic spice cultivation as well as spice cultivation using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes.

Key highlights of our backward integrated programme are as well below:

  • 400 plus farmers under our IPM based contract cultivation program.
  • We are currently working in Rajasthan but looking to expand our program to multiple states.
  • We have our own field staff, who remains constantly in touch with farmers from sowing till harvesting and guide them with proper agriculture practices to produce IPM/Organic produce.
  • With our assistance farmers are able to reduce their input costs by lesser use of pesticides and fertilisers.
  • At the same time we are able to increase the net cash inflow to the farmers by offering as much as 15% higher rates then market rates.
  • We provide continuous training and undertake many educative initiatives to forge an ongoing connection with farmers.
  • We under take multiple rounds of testing for pesticides, pyrrolizidine alkaloids, allergens, aflatoxins with world class accredited laboratories to ensure compliance with EU/USFDA/Australian/Japan norms on pesticide residues.
